Intellectual property rights

Intellectual property rights form a vast and unfortunately insufficiently explored sphere of Ukrainian law, despite the popularity of this topic lately. Copyright laws — form an exclusive right of the author, or his/her successors for use of the results of the creative activity in the area of art, literature or science.

The author has an exceptional right to use the results of his/her activity by his/her own decision or transfer these rights to successors. It should ensure protection against illegal production, reproduction or piracy.

Copyrights appear without registration and fall under state protection from the moment of creation. However copyrights license simplifies protection of copyrights, since the registration document includes the name of the creation, date of creation and information about author. Document on registration of the copyrights also allows commercializing intellectual property and make a profit on it.

In case of any disputes, related to violation of copyrights specialists of the advocate’s union «Legal force» will assist with the following:

• Prepare the documents and registration of intellectual property rights throughout Ukraine;
• Prepare and register documents on transferring the copyrights to a successor;
• Obtain a permit for use of the copyrights;
• Prepare and register a license agreement and agreement on transfer of intellectual property rights between the author and employer;
• Obtain a permit for use of the author rights objects from non-residents;
• Representation in court;
• Reconnaissance on the author and status of the copyrights.
