According to the legislation of Ukraine foreign citizens are allowed to work on the territory of Ukraine.

Legislative acts provide a foreign citizen with equal rights to work in Ukraine, unless otherwise is specified by Constitution or international treaties adopted by Ukraine.

A range of legislative acts including Law of Ukraine «On the legal status of foreign citizens and stateless citizens», Law of Ukraine «On employment» anticipate that foreign citizens who have come to Ukraine with the intent to become employed have the right to obtain a legal position, in case if they obtain a work permit from the employment center of Ukraine.

Work permit can be issued for one year and then be extended. Overall time of work permit validity is unconditioned. Failure to fulfill the terms of employment can result in penalties and deportation of the foreign citizen at the expense of the employer.

• Obtaining certificates from the state tax authorities on tax payments and other mandatory payments;
